The North Downs line has been closed on multiple occasions over the last few years for maintenance and upgrades. GWR will monitor how popular the services prove to be before deciding whether to extend them on a permanent basis. Gatwick Airport's reliability has faced scrutiny, as it was named the second-least reliable airport over Easter in a study analyzing Civil Aviation Authority data from March 2024 and April 2025 during two different Easter periods.
