Ibrahim Albashir attacked a female student with a bottle on March 17, 2024, on Headingley High Street in Leeds. The victim suffered serious cuts to her head and neck, and members of the public intervened to stop the attack. Albashir was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on June 16 at Leeds Crown Court.
In a separate case, Mahmood Ibrahim was charged with murder and attempted murder following a stabbing near a school in Birmingham, with Ali Alshmari pronounced dead at the scene and a woman in her 50s suffering hand injuries before being discharged from hospital. Ibrahim is due before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday.
