In Gropen, Fjugesta, Sweden, Gropens IF has transformed a worn 1970s barrack into a fully booked table tennis hall with six youth groups, supported by RF-SISU. The renovation, costing about 875,000 kronor, was funded by support and sponsorships covering around 460,000 kronor, with the club contributing about 415,000 kronor. A further renovation last year converted a former storage room into a new changing room for girls and visiting teams, costing about 195,000 kronor, largely enabled by new facility support.
The club, with over 400 members in a village of around 200 people, grew from one to six youth groups in the 2024/2025 season. Martin Nilsson, the chairman, stated that without the support, the renovations would not have been possible, and the fresh facilities allowed the club to accommodate all who wanted to play. The project included facade replacement, additional insulation, repainting of floors and walls, repair of moisture damage in wet areas, and modernization of the entire facility.
