Gothenburg seeks art for Kvibergs Park sports hall
Key Points
  • Permanent art commission for Kvibergs Park ice and sports hall in Gothenburg
  • Theme: 'Body'; budget: 1.6 million SEK
  • Facility completed in 2023 with sports and ice halls

The facility, completed in 2023, includes a sports hall with two full-size courts for handball, floorball, basketball, and futsal, as well as an ice hall used for ice hockey and figure skating that is open to the public. According to officials, the artwork must have a lifespan of at least 20 years and be site-specific, with six possible locations inside or outside the building. It should strengthen the site's identity, spark curiosity, and have variations in height and volume to be visible from near and far, while remaining well-anchored in the 'Body' theme without being overly illustrative.

Three artists or groups will be selected and each will receive 60,000 SEK (excluding VAT) for a sketch proposal. Installation is tentatively scheduled for November–December 2027. The procurement follows a two-step direct procurement process under the Public Procurement Act (LOU).
