The National Day celebrations in Slottsskogen, Gothenburg, will take place on June 6 from 11:00 to 19:30, according to official sources. Events include folk costume displays, folk dance at Gräfsnäsgården, an open house at the old police station, and concerts by Dream Orchestra, Göteborgs Symfoniker, and Göteborgs kulturskola.
A citizenship ceremony for new Gothenburg residents will be held, led by municipal board chairman Jonas Attenius. The ceremony area is open from 13:00 to 16:00 for new citizens and their companions, featuring keepsake sheets, coffee, bookmobiles, quiz walks, and face painting. The main ceremony on the big stage runs from 16:00 to 16:45, with Dream Orchestra, a welcome speech by Jonas Attenius, and a conversation with new citizens.
After the ceremony, the stage program continues with Göteborgs kulturskola, featuring 400 children and young people. The children's zoo is open from 10:00 to 16:30, and pony riding is available from 10:00 to 16:00, with a lunch break from 12:30 to 13:30. A hobby horse obstacle course will be available near the pony riding area. Animal talks by zookeepers will be given in easy Swedish on National Day, including a Humboldt penguin talk scheduled at 14:20.
