Google has reportedly enhanced its AI research assistant Notebook LM with new cinematic video overviews, according to technology reports. The feature, which generates fluid animations and detailed visuals, is designed to help users learn about topics they're interested in through visualization.

The cinematic video overviews are created through a combination of Google's Gemini 3, Veo 3, and Nano Banana technologies. According to reports, Gemini now acts as a creative director, making hundreds of structural and stylistic decisions to best tell stories with user sources, determining the best narrative, visual style, and format.

The feature represents an evolution of Notebook LM's capabilities, which began offering audio overviews (automatic podcasts) in fall 2024, followed by video overviews a year later. The new cinematic video overviews are reportedly available in English for adult users with the Google AI Ultra subscription.

Google states that one of the purposes of the videos is to help users learn about subjects they're interested in, thanks to the visualization capabilities. The technology generates what Google describes as "unique, immersive videos tailored for you."
