The Golden Knights underwent a coaching change late in the season, replacing Bruce Cassidy with John Tortorella on March 29. Under Tortorella, the team posted a 7-0-1 record in their first eight games. Jack Eichel led Vegas in scoring with 88 points, while Clayton Keller topped Utah with 80 points.
90 goals against per game, and goaltender Karel Vejmelka leads the NHL with 60 games played and a 36-19-3 record. Utah also has more regulation wins (42) than Vegas this season. The Golden Knights have made the playoffs every season except one since entering the NHL in 2017-18 and won the Stanley Cup in 2023.
The Mammoth are making their first playoff appearance since 2020, when they were the Arizona Coyotes.
