Glassblower Malin Mena has run her glass studio in the old water tower in Nättraby, Sweden, for 20 years. She is now preparing a jubilee exhibition titled 'Mellan eld & jord' (Between Fire and Earth), which will open at Ronneby konsthall on Saturday. The exhibition combines glass and ceramics, showcasing the breadth of her work over two decades.
Mena opened the studio after a comprehensive renovation in 2006, and it is now the only remaining glass studio in Blekinge. Maintaining the studio has been challenging, especially due to high electricity costs, as the furnace runs continuously at 1,130 degrees Celsius.
