The Gladiator, whose real name is Jamie Biggs, announced on Instagram that he is leaving the show after three series. A Gladiators spokesperson confirmed the departure, saying: "After three formidable series, Giant is leaving Gladiators. We'd like to thank him for everything he has contributed to the show and wish him well for the future." Biggs, from Ilkeston, Derbyshire, joined the cast when the series was rebooted in 2024. He quickly became a fan favourite due to his imposing physique and calm demeanour, often praised by contestants and viewers alike. His departure marks the first major cast change since the reboot, raising questions about the show's future direction.
In a lengthy social media post, Biggs told fans he was forced to quit after being faced with a choice that did not align with his values. "I was faced with a choice that didn't align with my values," he wrote. "And if you know me, you know this… I stand by my people and I stand by what I believe in. That's what being a role model means to me." He added: "This isn't the end. It's just the beginning. Stay strong. Stand tall." The exact nature of the choice or demand that conflicted with his values remains unclear. It is also unknown whether his departure will affect the production or format of season four, or if other cast members are considering leaving due to similar issues. Biggs has not announced his future plans after leaving the show, though he hinted at new projects in his post, saying fans should "watch this space."
So sad to hear this but you have got to stick to your values and morals you have to do what makes you happy. I will definitely miss you on Gladiators as you are my favourite. You have inspired me to become a better version of myself.
It won't be the same without, but I have so much respect for you for sticking to your values. That is definitely the sign of a true role model. I know you'll be amazing at whatever you take on next.
