George Russell won the Formula 1 sprint race in China on Saturday. It was his second consecutive victory of the season. The Mercedes driver started in pole position but reportedly lost the lead early when Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton overtook him.
The two drivers swapped positions multiple times before Russell made what many thought was the decisive move on lap five. However, a safety car came out with a few laps remaining, forcing him to defend his lead again. Hamilton finished third, while his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc took second place.
Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who has had a tough start to the year, finished ninth and without points. The Chinese Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday.
