The Prime Video series Gen V, a spin-off of The Boys, has been canceled after one season. Executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg confirmed that while the show will not continue as a standalone series, its characters will appear in The Boys Season 5 and other upcoming projects within the Vought Cinematic Universe (VCU).
Gen V first aired in 2023 and received critical acclaim, earning a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The series was overshadowed by tragedy when Chance Perdomo, who played Andre Anderson, died in a motorcycle accident in March 2024 at age 27. The creative team chose not to recast his role. In a statement, they said, "No one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honour Chance and his legacy this season."
While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys Season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again.
The Boys is currently airing its fifth and final season. A new spin-off, Vought Rising, is in development and will explore the origins of Vought International. Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash are set to reprise their roles in the series.
Several details remain unconfirmed, including the premiere date for The Boys Season 5, which specific VCU projects will feature Gen V characters, and the release timeline for Vought Rising. It is also unclear whether other Gen V cast members will appear in The Boys Season 5, and the plot of Vought Rising has not been disclosed.
