Prosecutors charged Donald Fields with criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, illicit possession of a gun, felonious assault, and being a habitual offender, according to police. A judge ordered Fields held without bond, police confirmed.

The girl was reunited with her family at her home, authorities stated. The kidnapping was random, with the man evidently targeting the girl at random, officials noted. Police chief Hussein Farhat said the situation could have ended really badly.
