Gabriel Landeskog, 33, is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury. The Colorado Avalanche forward missed a game against the Minnesota Wild due to the injury, which was announced on the NHL's website and the team's social media. Landeskog has reportedly been dealing with recurring injuries in recent years, including a knee injury that kept him out for three seasons between 2022 and 2025, during which he underwent several operations such as a cartilage transplant in 2023.
He missed 1,032 days of play after the 2022 Stanley Cup Final before returning in the 2025 Western Conference playoffs. Before the Olympics in Milan/Cortina, he reportedly injured his shoulder but recovered in time for the opening match. This season, Landeskog has played 47 games for Colorado, recording 29 points.
The Avalanche lead the Central Division, seven points ahead of the Dallas Stars and nine points ahead of the Minnesota Wild.
