Futsal players from across Sweden gathered in Kumla over the weekend to compete for the Swedish championship title. The competition included three women's teams, giving it championship status on the women's side as well. According to Jesper Melin, chairman of the organizing club IF Nerike, there are players at the championship with a high level of play.
Local talents include sisters Khuloud and Haifa Skaiti, who play together for IF Nerike. Haifa, 15 years old, has already been selected for a national team camp. On the men's side, some critics say this year's edition is a bit thin, as many national team players are absent due to playing for foreign clubs.
