Former national team player Fredric Lundqvist has taken over as the new chairman of IFK Luleå. The change occurred during the club's annual meeting at Scandic hotel in Luleå. The previous chairman, Göran Widén, reportedly stepped down after one year.
Lundqvist, 49, stated that he wants to elevate the club, saying the men's team's position in the fourth division is not good enough. In a separate development, Henrik Rosvall has left his position as chairman of IFK Kalmar after nearly three years. He reportedly took over in May 2023 after Håkan Brynielsson announced his departure, and the club had not found a replacement at that time.
