A defense employee at Marinbasen in Karlskrona has been reported to Försvarsmaktens personalansvarsnämnd for alleged sexual harassment, according to a report from SVT Blekingenytt. The incident reportedly occurred during a training session in December where the man served as a teacher and the woman was a student.

Marinbasen conducted its own investigation and concluded that the employee's behavior constituted sexual harassment under discrimination law. According to the investigation, the man subjected the woman to repeated unwanted behaviors, both physical and verbal. This included placing his hands on the woman's shoulders and giving her unwanted compliments, comments, and suggestions. He also reportedly sent messages via Skype, work phone, and private phone.

The naval base has now filed a report with the Swedish Armed Forces' personnel responsibility board, which will determine whether the man should be punished and, if so, how. According to the report, the man had previously received a written warning six years ago for sending sexual messages to a female colleague.

Marinbasen stated in its report that 'it is a requirement that each individual employee has a morality, ethics, and behavior that does not lead to sexual harassment.' The man reportedly acknowledges parts of his actions, according to the filing.
