Key Points
  • Alcohol-free beer sales increased significantly in 2025 according to Swedish brewers' association data.
  • Snausarve bryggeri reports alcohol-free beer has 'completely taken over' the low-alcohol segment.
  • The trend is visible at events like Linköping Beer Expo where breweries are adapting to changing consumer preferences.

Sales of low-alcohol and alcohol-free beverages are experiencing significant growth in Sweden, according to industry data from Sveriges bryggerier. The trend was particularly evident in 2025, with alcohol-free beer showing the strongest increase among beverage categories. Gotland-based Snausarve bryggeri, which is exhibiting at the Linköping Beer Expo, has noted the shift in consumer preferences.

"Alcohol-free beer has completely taken over that segment," said Calle Andersson of Snausarve bryggeri. Visitor Molly Frid from Boxholm suggested the trend may be linked to fewer young people drinking alcohol today. "You notice when you go out that there aren't nearly as many people anymore," Frid observed.
