A former SVT presenter has been acquitted of charges involving aggravated rape and assault by the Ystad District Court. According to court documents, the man, who is in his 50s, was charged with two counts of aggravated rape and one count of assault against three different individuals. The alleged incidents reportedly occurred between 2022 and 2024 at a horse farm in Skåne.
The court found that the evidence presented was insufficient to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the man had drugged and sexually exploited two individuals as alleged in the charges. Judge Sara Thomas stated in the court's press release that 'for a conviction in cases of sexual offenses, as in other criminal cases, it requires that the court through the investigation in the case finds it beyond reasonable doubt that the accused has committed the acts.'

According to reports, the man had been suspected of raping two men and was released from custody in early March. Police reportedly conducted raids at his home where they seized numerous items including sex toys and 'unusually large amounts' of prescription and narcotic-classified medications. The former presenter, who has appeared in children's programming on SVT, denied all allegations throughout the proceedings.
One lay judge reportedly dissented from the majority opinion, wanting to convict the man for one case of rape according to the normal degree. The court also rejected compensation claims from three individuals.
