Tandlund, who is reportedly vice chair of both the social committee and the children and education committee in the municipality, had previously expressed criticism of her former party's direction.
Sources indicate that Tandlund's decision grew over time, with the politician stating she wants to work for the entire Pajala municipality, including both the central town and surrounding villages. The move to a more right-leaning party is reportedly not seen as surprising by Tandlund, who cited constructive cooperation with the Christian Democrats during her political career.
Tandlund is expected to be placed among the top five names on the Christian Democrats' ballot for the municipal election, according to reports from local media.
