According to Borås Tidning, Alexander Strömborg, a former Sverigedemokraterna (Sweden Democrats) member, has launched a new local political party called Herrljungapartiet. Strömborg reportedly left Sverigedemokraterna in December 2023 after being the party's local top candidate in the 2022 record election. The departure was said to be influenced by several factors, including party leader Jimmie Åkesson's statement that it should be possible to demolish mosques.
