Coleman, who was 34 weeks pregnant at the time, said the force of the biker snatching her phone caused her to fall onto her stomach. She described the incident as traumatic, saying she could still feel the bounce and that it was like PTSD. The thief did not get the phone, as it bounced on the floor.
Coleman shouted at him while lying in the road that she was eight months pregnant. She rushed to hospital to check the baby's heartbeat. Coleman said she had to wait half an hour before being checked, and criticized the hospital staff for being relaxed.
Hospital staff were eventually able to hear a heartbeat and monitored her for two hours. Coleman has made the police aware of the incident. According to Metropolitan Police crime dashboard data, 61,331 devices were snatched in London throughout 2025, equivalent to 1,179 per week or 168 per day.
