Five Convicted for Murder Plot Against Uppsala Gang Leader

Key Points
  • Five people convicted for planning murder of Uppsala gang leader
  • Two 15-year-old boys from Småland equipped with loaded pistols for restaurant attack
  • Arrest occurred when police became suspicious of boys waiting for pizza delivery

Uppsala District Court has convicted five individuals for involvement in a planned murder of a prominent gang criminal in Uppsala. According to court documents, two 15-year-old boys from Småland were sent to Uppsala in September last year with instructions to carry out the killing at a restaurant in the Boländerna district. The boys were reportedly equipped with loaded pistols, ammunition, masks, gloves, and mobile phones.

Their arrest occurred when police officers, who happened to be in the area, became suspicious of the boys as they waited for a pizza delivery at a hostel. A subsequent search of their rooms uncovered the weapons and phones, which led to the arrest of three additional suspects. The two teenagers have been sentenced to closed youth care for preparation for murder and serious weapons offenses.

The planned attack was reportedly intended to target one of Uppsala's most well-known gang criminals, though authorities have not officially named the intended victim. The convictions highlight ongoing concerns about youth involvement in organized crime activities in the region.
