Currently, road signs in Finland display only one Sami language alongside Finnish, according to official sources. The Skolt Sami siidaforsamling and the Sami Parliament of Finland have called for place names to be signposted in multiple Sami languages where needed. Several municipalities lie within areas where more than one Sami language is spoken, officials said.
