According to reports from Skånska Dagbladet, Halmstad District Court has convicted five individuals from Eslöv and Höör for an attempted extortion against a family in Halmstad where the father is a police officer. The perpetrators reportedly demanded 130,000 kronor and threw stones at the family's residence. The attack appears to have been a case of mistaken identity, with one of the sons being confused with a young man who had drug-related debts.
A 43-year-old man from Eslöv was sentenced to five months in prison for aiding and abetting attempted extortion, while a 20-year-old man received protective supervision combined with one month in prison for attempted extortion and involving a minor in criminal activity. The court's judgment was reportedly delivered on April 5, 2026.
