At least five people have died in a trash avalanche at a large landfill in Indonesia. The incident occurred at the country's largest landfill, located just outside Jakarta, after heavy rain over the weekend reportedly caused a landslide. Rescue workers, numbering in the hundreds, are searching through muddy trash piles using dogs and excavators.
According to reports, the dead include two garbage truck drivers and two people who sold food at stalls near the landfill. At least three more people are reportedly missing, with more rain expected.
