FC Copenhagen has sacked head coach Jacob Neestrup, who leaves with immediate effect. The decision was reportedly made by mutual agreement, according to the club's official website. The club is currently in a crisis, having failed to qualify for the Danish championship series and instead being placed in the relegation series.
In the relegation series, the team has started with two consecutive losses. Neestrup took over FC Copenhagen in 2022 and led the team to league and cup titles, but this season has been a significant failure for the reigning champion club. According to reports from Danish media, a replacement is already set, with Bo Svensson reportedly on his way in as the new head coach.
Svensson is said to be signing a contract for at least four years and has previously managed clubs including Mainz 05 and Union Berlin. The squad includes Swedish players Jordan Larsson and Viktor Claesson, who are reportedly leaving for IFK Värnamo this summer.
