Father and son cycle world for 400 days
Key Points
  • Father-son duo cycling around the world for 400 days
  • Raised more than £30,000 for charity
  • On track for three Guinness World Records

The pair set off from Norfolk on 29 March last year, according to multiple reports. They have cycled through more than 25 countries across Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas. Their daily routine involves cycling for around 7-8 hours, and they are expected to cover 30,000 kilometres by the end of their journey.

They are on track to secure three Guinness World Records: fastest father and son to circumnavigate the world on bicycles, furthest distance cycled by a father and son, and most countries cycled through by a father and son. The duo have ascended 180,000 metres, equivalent to 20 Mount Everests. Highlights include crossing the Nullarbor Plain in Australia, visiting Iguazu Falls, and seeing hot-air balloons in Cappadocia, Turkey.

They will finish their journey next month. George Kohler, who runs his own chimney-sweeping business, told the Daily Mirror that the journey has involved hardship and challenge, but also mutual support and incredible scenery. The exact total distance cycled so far and the specific charity they are raising money for have not been disclosed.
