A truck and car collided on E6 in Innlandet, Norway, at 18:42 on Sunday, according to police. The car driver died in the accident, police said. The truck caught fire after the collision, incident commander Bjørn Lagmannsveen told NRK Innlandet.
The truck driver was taken to hospital, according to three official sources. The road was closed for several hours. In a separate incident on E18 at Harebakken in Arendal, a truck hit concrete barriers, causing a diesel leak of 200-300 liters into a nearby river, police operations leader Tone Lise Erikstad said.
The truck driver was taken to an emergency clinic for a check-up and was not seriously injured, she added. E18 was reopened at 04:53, police said. On E6 at Leangen in Trondheim, a truck and car collided at 19:31, police operations leader Ketil Stene said.
No injuries were reported, police said. Another collision between a truck and car occurred on E14 Halsøbrua in Stjørdal, traffic operator Pål Haugbro said. The road was cleared and traffic was not affected, according to Vegtrafikksentralen.
In Sandefjord, a truck and car collision on E18 caused a secondary accident involving two cars and three people, police said. One person was taken to an emergency clinic, police added. In Sweden, a car drove into the back of a truck on E6 in Stenungsund around 14:00, police said.
A man in his 70s, the car driver, died, police said. E6 was reopened after the accident, police said. A pile-up on E22 outside Sölvesborg involved at least 16 vehicles, rescue services said.
