Färjestad BK has extended the contract of hockey forward Per Åslund for another year, according to the club's official website. The 39-year-old has played 869 SHL games for the Karlstad club and could reach 900 games with the same team under the new deal. Sport director Rickard Wallin said Åslund is a unique player and that both parties had the ambition to extend.
Wallin noted that Åslund scored the most goals on the team in the regular season and praised his work ethic in training and matches. Åslund expressed excitement about returning to the team environment after a few weeks of involuntary break.
