Färjestad defeated Leksand 3-2 in a shootout in a Swedish Hockey League match in Karlstad. Leksand was close to a fourth consecutive win but Axel Bergkvist equalized for Färjestad with one and a half minutes left in regulation, sending the game to overtime and then a shootout. In the shootout, Färjestad goaltender Emil Larmi stopped all attempts while David Tomasek scored the only goal.
Leksand had taken a 2-1 lead earlier in the game, with Matt Caito scoring in the second period and Lukas Vejdemo adding another after a power play. Leksand had not conceded a goal in 222 minutes before Luke Philp scored for Färjestad early in the third period, ending that streak. The loss came despite Leksand showing strong form recently, particularly in defense and goaltending.
