A father in a municipality in Västerbotten, Sweden, has been charged with grossly negligent driving and grossly causing bodily injury after accidentally running over his 4-year-old son with an ATV. The incident occurred when the man was giving his two sons a ride on a plow attached to the ATV. During the ride, the ATV tipped sideways, and the 4-year-old fell off the plow and ended up under one of the ATV's tracks.
The ATV had a service weight of 526 kg. The boy broke his femur and scraped his lower back in the accident. The father has admitted to the sequence of events but denies it constitutes a gross crime.
