The vernissage is scheduled for Friday, March 20, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Örebro konsthall, featuring an opening speech, participation by Albin Biblom and the Fotoboksdagen association, and an artist talk. Open studio sessions are held on Saturdays from 11 AM to 2:30 PM for creative activities, with specific dates and themes listed. During the Easter break, the konsthall's studio is open from 12 PM to 3 PM on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 12 PM to 2:30 PM on Thursday, for activities inspired by the exhibition.
The exhibition features photographs and films from three of Biblom's major works: 'Curiosity and Control', 'Mechkar', and 'The Conquest of Space'. 'Curiosity and Control' addresses our relationship with zoos and natural history museums, places that aim to create closeness to nature while educating and preserving. 'Mechkar' deals with Bulgaria's last dancing bears and their owners, a Romani tradition and profession passed down from father to son for over a thousand years.
'The Conquest of Space' follows the chimpanzee Ham's space journey a few months before Gagarin became the first human in space, using archival material from NASA and National Archives. Albin Biblom is a photographer and filmmaker who has exhibited internationally, primarily in Germany and the Netherlands, often focusing on humanity's complex relationship with nature. The exhibition at Örebro Konsthall was initiated and curated by the Fotoboksdagen i Örebro association, which chose to highlight Albin Biblom's work.
It remains unknown what specific opening speech will be given at the vernissage and who will deliver it, as well as how many photographs and films are included in the exhibition from each of Biblom's three works. Additionally, it is unclear whether there is an admission fee for the exhibition or any of the associated events.
