The European Commission has launched the latest round of its Discover EU program, offering 40,000 free travel passes to 18-year-olds across Europe. According to reports from Swedish media outlets, young people born between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008 can now apply for this year's edition of the program.
The Discover EU initiative, which began in 2018, has reportedly provided free travel opportunities to 431,931 young Europeans to date. The program primarily offers train travel for up to one month, allowing participants to explore Europe. Youth Commissioner Glenn Micallef stated in a press release that for many young people, this represents their first opportunity to travel independently and connect with people from across Europe.
