A new report presented to the European Parliament's fisheries committee on Wednesday shows that EU countries continue to import Russian fish worth billions of kronor annually, despite sanctions. According to the report, EU countries import mainly cod and pollock from Russia, valued at around seven billion kronor per year. Additionally, Russian fish products worth at least six billion kronor arrive in the EU via China.

Swedish MEP Isabella Lövin (MP) called this 'deeply shameful' and demanded that Sweden's government push for a total import ban on Russian fish, reportedly stating that all possibilities to pressure Putin and his war economy should be reviewed.
