The European Union is reportedly ready to pause its trade agreement with the United States following President Donald Trump's announcement about tariffs, according to a Bloomberg report cited by TV4 Nyheterna. Several political groups within the EU are demanding new decisions and clarity from President Trump regarding the tariffs and are planning to stop work on ratifying the trade agreement. 'We have no other choice,' said Zeljana Zovko, chief negotiator on trade issues for the EPP group.
The chairman of the EU's trade committee has reportedly called for a crisis meeting on Monday to reassess the agreement. This marks the second time the EU has halted the ratification process for this trade agreement. The previous suspension occurred after Trump threatened to annex Greenland.
