Frasse Szabo of Eskilstuna, Sweden, has spent the last five decades building an impressive collection of 170 typewriters, according to a report from SVT Sörmland. His favorites are displayed in a glass cabinet in his living room, while the rest reside in his garage. Szabo describes his passion as "a fantastically fun hobby" that combines the thrill of finding different typewriter models with the satisfaction of restoring them.
His interest was sparked over 50 years ago when he watched a service technician repair typewriters at his workplace. "I sneaked in and watched when he was working on the machines," Szabo recalled. " The collection represents a lifelong dedication to preserving mechanical writing technology.
