According to reports from Nerikes Allehanda, energy company Eon is currently conducting infrastructure work at Stortorget that will impact traffic in the area. The project, which involves installing new district heating pipes and electrical cables, began in mid-February and is scheduled to continue through the end of May. Björn Carlsson, project manager at Eon Värme, is overseeing the operation.
The excavation work is now expanding to Trädgårdsgatan, which is expected to affect traffic during the coming week. Parking spaces in the lower section of Stortorget have been closed for the duration of the project. The work is reportedly progressing according to plan, with the current phase focusing on crossing Trädgårdsgatan with new district heating pipes.
