Emirates plans en-suite bathrooms in first-class suites

Economy & businessEconomy
Key Points
  • Emirates president Sir Tim Clark announced en-suite bathroom plans for first-class.
  • No commercial airline currently offers private bathrooms for every first-class passenger.
  • It is unclear if bathrooms will be on A380 and 777 retrofits or new aircraft.

Clark spoke at the 2026 Capa Airline Leader Summit in Berlin on Thursday. Emirates currently operates first-class cabins on all its Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, but it is unclear whether the en-suite bathrooms will be retrofitted onto existing planes or installed on new models. Current first-class on the A380 includes two shower spas, an onboard lounge and bar, while the 777 offers fully enclosed suites without shower facilities.

Regulators may need to approve the new bathrooms before they can be installed. Clark said: "I'm working on en-suite bathrooms in first-class suites.
