Students at Örnaskolan in Hylte, Sweden have taken initiative to improve access to menstrual hygiene products by installing two free dispensers at their school. According to a report from SVT Halland, the student council led the project with support from external sponsors.
The dispensers provide both pads and tampons that students can access free of charge. Baneen Hasani, chairperson of the student council at Örnaskolan, stated that the initiative makes students feel safer and is important for gender equality.

Previously, menstrual products were available through school counselors and mentors, but Hasani explained that the new dispensers make these essential items more accessible and easier for female students to obtain. The installation was completed on March 5, 2026, as part of the student council's efforts to address practical needs within the school community.
