Students from Carlslundsskolan, Maja Beskow, and Bräntbergsskolan are participating this week in the elderly care group work experience, according to officials. The program provides an opportunity to learn more about how elderly care works with care, technology, innovation, and preventive measures. According to operations developer Jeanette Eriksson, the students get to encounter the operations up close, gaining new insights and meeting people in elderly care, such as through a visit to Dragonen care and nursing home. She described elderly care as a broad professional field with heart and competence, aiming to spark interest for a future in a profession where you make a difference.
In addition to the group work experience, elderly care offers about 30 work experience places in short-term housing, home care services, and at six different care and nursing homes during practice weeks 16, 17, 19, and 21. The specific activities involved in the group work experience program and the criteria for selecting students from the 42 applicants have not been disclosed. Feedback from previous participants and the exact dates for the practice weeks remain unknown.
