Eight members of the Moderate Party have quit municipal politics in Forshaga during the current mandate period, leaving only four from the party in the municipal council. The party had six mandates in the municipal council after the 2022 election. According to Anders Ljungsten, the party's leading person in Forshaga and a municipal executive board member, there have been several reasons for the departures, including a personal conflict within the party, with both regular members and substitutes leaving.
He stated that it is tough to get people to take on political roles and that this is not good for democracy. Ljungsten now assesses that there is no conflict at all and describes the group as a really good gang.
