The assault occurred on August 14, 2023, around breakfast time at the BH Mallorca Resort in room 108. According to court documents, the victim had been drinking heavily and fell into a state of unconsciousness during the half-hour-long attack. French tourists Khalil Abderrahmen Mejbri and Romain Charles Michel Galatioto orally penetrated her, with Galatioto doing so seven times while the teenager was naked apart from her bra. Frenchman Anthony Guy Gerard Wengler and Swiss national Lucas Haiaiel Ngandjeu Djamen Tchatchou raped her at least once using both their fingers and penises, as did Thomas Eric Coretin Wisniewski, also from France. Tchatchou and Wengler, who was staying in room 108, also spat at her anal area while she was face-down, and hit and whipped her bottom along with Mejbri after Frenchman Satilmis Sahan slapped her on the backside. French nationals Anthony Auque and Mouhamadou Wade watched the gang rape occur and, along with the rest of the group, surrounded their victim yelling out disgusting insults. Members of the group also laughed loudly as they shouted insults. After assaulting the victim, one man went into the hotel corridor and offered 'free sex' with her to strangers, according to multiple reports. The attack ended when a hotel security guard rescued the victim, finding her sobbing in the lobby.
The perpetrators, a group referred to as the 'wolf pack' or 'französisches Rudel', are seven French nationals and one man whose nationality is disputed, with some sources identifying him as Swedish and others as Swiss. Their identities were revealed in a Spanish court as Khalil Abderrahmen Mejbri, Romain Charles Michel Galatioto, Anthony Guy Gerard Wengler, Haiaiel Ngandjeu Sjamen Tchatchou, Thomas Eric Coretin Wisniewski, Satilmis Sahan, Anthony Auque, and Mouhamadou Wade. Six of the suspects were detained in Majorca, and two were arrested abroad on European Arrest Warrants, according to multiple reports.
In legal proceedings, the eight men agreed to plead guilty in exchange for reduced prison sentences totaling just over 73 years. Spanish prosecutors had initially sought individual jail sentences of 18 to 20 years for each man, totaling 151 years, and cautioned that they could face imprisonment for more than 150 years if found guilty as charged before they opted to plead guilty as part of their agreements. Five rapists accepted jail terms of 9 to 11 years for sexual assault, with three receiving higher sentences for repeating crimes, while another admitted to a sexual assault that didn't involve penetration and received a four-year prison sentence. Three men who filmed the gang rape were handed prison sentences of 2 years and 3 months. According to research, five of the self-admitted sex attackers were sentenced to either eleven or nine years in prison at the Audiencia Provincial court in Palma, Majorca. The eight convicted men have been ordered to compensate their victim with more than €100,000 (£86,313), according to multiple reports.
The men recorded the rape, making at least 19 videos, and some sent videos via Snapchat. According to the plea agreement, each defendant used their mobile phones to record several videos during the incidents. Two of the men posted the horror footage on Snapchat, research indicates.
The Irish woman in the Magaluf groping case denies the crime, claiming it was a misunderstanding.
This incident is not isolated in Magaluf's history. In 2014, viral footage showed a British 18-year-old giving oral sex to 24 men on a Carnage Magaluf pub crawl, egged on by a DJ, according to multiple reports. It remains unknown if there are ongoing investigations or charges related to the DJ or organizers involved in that incident.

According to Daily Mail - News, Irish woman's lawyer and sources described that she denies the crime, claiming it was a misunderstanding. The current status of her trial and when it is scheduled are unknown.

The attacker received a nine-year prison sentence based on DNA analysis and security camera footage. The British victim died seven months after the attack, with her health deteriorating post-assault, according to multiple reports.
Authorities' response and prevention measures in tourist destinations like Magaluf remain unclear, as specific actions taken by Spanish authorities or resorts to prevent similar sexual assaults have not been detailed. Similarly, the status of other Magaluf investigations is not specified.
