A new seasonal drink called eidmust has been launched in Sweden ahead of Ramadan, which is reportedly set to begin in February. The drink, which includes flavors of pomegranate alongside classic must taste, is being sold in Skåne at Babylon Grill in Malmö and Babylon Kitchen in Lund, according to reports. It was created by Reza Sonbolro from Solna in collaboration with the Örebro-based company Roberts.
The drink has reportedly gone viral on social media, particularly on TikTok, and has generated significant interest, with the first delivery nearly sold out. Reactions on social media have varied, with some positive feedback and some criticism, including skepticism among some Muslims about mixing traditions. Alan Mahmud, a social media influencer and co-owner of the restaurants selling the drink, says the interest comes not only from Muslims but also from other groups, including non-Muslim Swedes who have tried it.
