Anger reportedly said after a previous race that he likely would not compete further, indicating his season might be over. Their participation in Sunday's sprint event is uncertain, with Ravald stating that decision will be made during the day. In the men's 20-kilometer mass start earlier in the championships, Anger finished 28th, while Poromaa did not start.
