Ebba Årsjö of Sweden won the gold medal in the downhill event at the Paralympics. 71 seconds ahead of silver medalist Aurelie Richard of France, with Varvara Voronchikhina of Russia taking bronze. According to reports, Årsjö had been dealing with pain and skipped the morning training run before the competition.
This marks her first international championship gold in downhill, improving on her bronze from the 2022 Paralympics in Beijing. She is set to compete in all alpine events at the Paralympics, with her next race reportedly being the super-G.
