Dyson has launched its first-ever portable fan, the HushJet Mini Cool Fan, as temperatures across parts of the UK hit 26°C this week. The lightweight device is designed for on-the-go use, featuring a unique nozzle for quiet airflow and multiple color options. The HushJet Mini Cool Fan weighs 212g and is engineered for portability, allowing users to hold it in their hand, hang it around their neck, or prop it up on a desk.
It features a unique nozzle that can blast air out without making too much noise, and users can choose between five airflow speeds. According to a press release, Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer at Dyson, described the product as the culmination of the company's journey in airflow technology, stating that since 2009, Dyson has focused on mastering air projection, reducing turbulence, and refining thermal technology, with this fan bringing elite cooling technology to handheld use. The fan comes in three finishes: Ink/Cobalt, Carnelian/Sky, and Stone/Blush, with the Stone/Blush finish inspired by mother of pearl.
Since 2009, we've been obsessed with airflow. Mastering air projection, reducing turbulence, and refining thermal technology. The HushJet Mini Cool fan is the culmination of that journey: powerful airflow, engineered for life on the move by bringing elite cooling technology from every home to your hand.
Holly Holmes, Dyson Colour Materials and Finish Engineer, explained in a press release that the finishes aim to evoke emotion and context, with bold contrasts for confidence, deep tones for sophistication, and soft hues for calm, making engineering personal. Dyson already has a range of fans under its belt, including several popular tower fans and desk fans, and its product portfolio has expanded over the years from vacuum cleaners to also include air purifying and treatment devices, as well as a wide range of beauty products. The exact date next month when the HushJet Mini Cool Fan will go on sale has not been confirmed, and it is unclear how its noise level compares quantitatively to other handheld fans.
Additionally, the battery life, charging time, and availability in markets outside the UK remain unspecified, and it is unknown whether the fan includes any air purification or filtration features.
