A fire broke out at a high-rise building in the Högsbo area of Gothenburg, Sweden, on August 26. The alarm came at lunchtime, leading to the evacuation of a preschool and 99 apartments. The rescue operation lasted nearly two days, with the fire service using a drone equipped with a camera to monitor the fire's progress in the attic.

The drone helped firefighters search for a so-called limitation line in the building, a structural part where the fire could be stopped or contained to prevent it from threatening the rest of the structure. In this case, no such line was found, so firefighters created their own by making holes in the roof. Seven months later, several residents had still not been able to move back.
