Lukas Vejdemo, a 30-year-old center and captain for Leksands IF, is reportedly close to moving to Djurgarden. According to unconfirmed reports from Expressen, Djurgarden has advanced far in discussions with Vejdemo and is willing to offer him a long-term contract. Vejdemo's current contract with Leksand is valid through the spring of 2027 but reportedly breaks if Leksand is relegated from the SHL.
Leksand is in a qualifying series and risks relegation after two consecutive losses to HV71. Vejdemo, who has scored 18 goals this season, is also reportedly attracting interest from clubs in Switzerland and other teams. Djurgarden's assistant sports director, Marcus Due Boje, could not be reached for comment by Expressen.
