Djurgårdens IF defeated division 2 team IFK Skövde 8-0 in an away match in Skövde, Sweden. The match was part of the Swedish Cup group stage. Midfielder Mikael Anderson, 27, started on the bench but came on as a substitute.
He missed a penalty but scored the final goal. ' He added that the decision is up to coach Jani Honkavaara, whom he respects. Honkavaara explained the decision as needing rotation.
I think absolutely that I should start.
Anderson has not discussed the decision with the coach. Djurgården lost its first group match to Falkenbergs FF. Anderson, bought from AGF Århus this summer for around 20 million kronor, has become a key player, with four goals and two assists in 14 Allsvenskan matches in the fall.
In the group, Brommapojkarna has started with two wins, but if Djurgården beats them in the final round, Djurgården will overtake them on goal difference.
