According to major media reports, Paul Wynne, who has eight children, used to start work at 3:15 AM delivering produce to care homes and children's nurseries. He gave two weeks' notice at his job after winning, and his employer said his job is there if he wants it back anytime. Wynne played Lotto through The National Lottery phone app, using the same two sets of numbers for the past eight years, with one winning line based on dates associated with his five younger children.
He discovered he won early on a Sunday morning while his children were in bed. Wynne said, 'It's life-changing for me. When I discovered I had won, I immediately worked out I could take an early retirement.
It's life-changing for me.
' He added, 'I went into work and told them what happened and said, 'I'll give my two weeks notice'. ' Wynne has bought a new car and scrapped his old one, and is planning a holiday to New York later this year. He is considering buying a share in a racehorse and plans to attend premier horse racing events with his sons, including Danny (37), Jake (33), and Ricky (32).
Wynne is committed to safeguarding his children's financial wellbeing, noting, 'I've never been able to help out financially the way I've wanted to with my kids.
When I discovered I had won, I immediately worked out I could take an early retirement. Getting up at 3.15am and starting work at 4am is hard, especially in the winter in the ice and snow and I still had eight years left until I was due to retire.
